The Hippodrome Casino is an established cornerstone of West End life in London. It is the UK’s largest entertainment and casino venue, welcoming millions of visitors every year. The Hippodrome Casino London were initially using DJs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to create an uplifting atmosphere to keep customers around for longer. This meant that they were spending £150 per night, and a whopping £23,400 per year on live DJs.
Not only were these DJs expensive, they often would not stick to the brand’s brief. The volume levels would get too loud and have an adverse effect, the DJs would sometimes be late, drink too much or damage equipment.
The Hippodrome also had issues with upkeeping the DJ equipment, as well as managing the live music rotas.
To put it simply, they were looking for a cost effective, reliable DJ solution. That’s where Ultimate DJ stepped in.
This is how we do it.
The Hippodrome initially began using Ultimate DJ on a Thursday to see how they liked it. This alone saved them £4,300 per annum, and allowed them to assess the system to see if it was right for them.
Although they were testing out using Ultimate DJ one day a week initially, they of course had access to the system 7 days a week, whenever they needed it. This also protected them from DJs failing to show on other days due to illnesses, and to create a spontaneous party at other times of the week.

It took 3 months and the Hippodrome decided to get rid of their live DJs altogether in favour of Ultimate DJ. They made the decision to save £19,800 per annum, as well as get the freedom 365 days a year they so desperately needed.
It was a no-brainer - lower costs, more reliable, less maintenance, and a guaranteed crowd pleaser for all walks of life in their venue.
The system was initially implemented to reduce costs at non-essential times (like Thursdays) when a DJ wasn’t necessarily needed. We also wanted to investigate improving the quality. We had issues with volume levels, inappropriate tracks and other areas that were becoming frustrating. Our initial experience over 3 months was so impressive that we got rid of DJs on all nights. We found the system delivered exactly what we needed, without the hassle of employing the DJ, servicing the equipment, and trying to keep them on brand.
